If you are currently renting a massage therapy suite, or if you are contemplating doing so, eventually the matter of marketing your business will arise.  The various ways to market a small business are many; far too often, though, the budget is not as robust as the idea chest.

We are going to share some of our observations on this matter, observations based on over a decade in the salon suite rental business.  We are Salon & Spa Galleria, serving the Greater Fort Worth area with twenty-three salon suite rental locations. Call us at 817-917-1416 for more information about current pricing and availability of our luxury salon suites.

Marketing a massage therapy suite on a small budget calls for smart decisions, so let’s talk about that.

Massage therapy suite marketing groundwork.

We begin this lesson not by marketing but by focusing. Focusing on what? Set your sights, and your efforts, on your mission statement and your target audience. Without knowing your purpose and the people you are aiming at, any marketing program you devise will surely miss the mark.

Take the time, right now, to write out a mission statement, if you do not have one already.  What is your goal? What will be your “true North” as you go forward? A mission statement is a one-or-two sentence statement of your purpose.  It can go something like this: to provide the best customer service possible to working women.  And within that statement, you will notice, the target audience has been named.

Which now brings us to your marketing campaign, on a budget, aimed at working women in your city.

Which marketing methods will achieve the results you want.

The absolute worst thing you can do is the shotgun approach, tossing out bits and pieces of marketing, with no target in sight. Just splash it out there and hope your target audience is somehow hit by the buckshot. And you have a great many marketing techniques to use for a massage therapy booth, including:

  • Loyalty program
  • Email marketing
  • Google ads
  • Host a contest
  • Social marketing media
  • Carry business cards
  • Make promotional videos
  • Online booking systems
  • Referral discounts
  • Work with influencers
  • Salon promotions
  • Word of mouth
  • Appointment reminders
  • Partner with other businesses
  • Host events
  • And, of course, a website with recurring content updates

To name just a few.  Now, armed with ammunition, which do you use?

A few suggestions for you to consider.

The year is 2024. The old ways of marketing are antiquated and not terribly effective.  We are talking about newspaper ads, radio ads, television ads, billboards.  Mind you, they have their place, and at times they serve their purpose, but they are also expensive, and they splatter across all population segments. They are not specific in their aim, and that means far too often they miss the mark.

In today’s world, these are the most effective marketing approaches:

  • Content marketing
  • Social media marketing
  • Search engine optimization
  • Email marketing and newsletters
  • Team with an influencer
  • Landing pages

Please notice, almost all of these suggestions are related to the digital world, so the sooner you acquaint yourself with the internet, the web, and the influence they yield, the better.  These are inexpensive approaches to marketing, comparatively speaking, and they give you the best chance at reaching your marketing.

And, we would be remiss, if we did not mention one other approach:

Be the best massage therapy technician/professional you can be.  Never underestimate the power of word of mouth in promoting your business.
