Without a doubt, the #1 question we receive regarding renting a salon suite rental, is this: what does it cost? And the #2 question is this: what are the added costs on top of the suites for lease?
We will answer both of these questions in this article. We are Salon & Spa Galleria, serving the Greater Fort Worth area with twelve luxurious locations, so we know a thing or two about booth rental opportunities. Call us at 972-691-7300 for more information and, if you are reading this from the Fort Worth area, talk to us about a tour of our facilities.
Salon suite rental initial cost
Renting a salon suite will cost you whatever you are willing to pay. How’s that for a wishy-washy answer? But, in a way, it’s true. We have luxury salon suites for under $100 per week. We have larger units for $400 per week? We have a salon suite rental to fit your budget. We also allow professionals to share a salon booth, bringing the initial cost down even more.
Additional costs
Now we’re getting down to it. What is it really going to cost you to go into business for yourself? You can plan on the following expenses in addition to the salon rental fee:
- Business license
- Cost of goods to be sold
- Utilities?
- Marketing?
- Decorating your salon or spa booth rental
- Personal supplies
Let’s look at each of these in a bit more detail.
Business license
A business license is going to cost you around $100, give or take a buck, depending upon where you are living. It is not a one-time fee. It needs to be renewed on an annual basis, or at least it does in most cities.
Cost of goods to be sold
Are you going to sell products from your salon suite? If so, you will have to arrange a supplier for those products, and you will have to purchase your initial inventory.
Utilities
A word to the wise: at Salon & Spa Galleria, utilities are included in the low rental fee. That is not always the case with some salon rental companies. Check the fine print and find out if you will be paying for the utilities or if they are included in the rental fee. Utilities can add a couple hundred bucks to your monthly expenses, so if you find a place like Salon & Spa Galleria, in your city, jump on that opportunity.
Marketing
How much marketing you do for your business, and what type of marketing you do, and how much you are willing to pay for marketing, these are all decisions you will have to make. Marketing is expensive, period, end of story, so choose wisely. Salon & Spa Galleria offers a free web page for our clients, and we offer marketing workshops to help with the education of our clients. We have clients who do not market at all and do quite well. We have clients who do quite a bit of marketing and they, too, do quite well. What you are willing to do is a personal and business decision only you can make, so we cannot put a dollar figure to it.
Decorating
What will it cost do decorate your salon suite? A couple hundred dollars? Again, this is a subjective decision. And what about furniture? A Saloon & Spa Galleria, we have furniture available if it is needed, but the decorating of your unit is up to you.
Personal supplies
Most hair stylists, nail specialist, tattoo pros, and other beauty specialists already have their own professional supplies, but if you don’t have them, you will need to purchase them. This can be a bit pricey. Plan on paying at least $500 to get started, but more realistically you probably will be paying at least $1000 for the supplies and implements you will need to conduct your business.
