What types of services do you find at a day spa?

Finding a location if you are a specialist in any of these services
For anyone specializing in any of those services, finding a place to “hang your shingle” is not that difficult. You basically need a salon booth of some sort, a minimum of furniture/equipment, and access to utilities. It would certainly be nice if you found a location on a major road, and it would also be nice to have access to foot traffic. Your business will depend upon walk-in traffic as well as your skills in marketing, so finding the right location will eliminate the first of your needs, namely a high-visibility location.
Options you have in locations
There really are only four options you have:
- Work from home
- Work from your own day spa location
- Work in a beauty salon or some other sort of spa room rental owned by someone else
- Lease a salon booth rental in a place like Salon & Spa Galleria
Let’s look at each of these options.
Work from home
This is obviously the least-expensive option. It is also, in our opinion, the least-attractive. It means having clients traipse through your home daily. And it means a huge marketing campaign since you will receive little or no “walk-in” or “drive-by” traffic.
Work from your own day spa location
This is attractive, but it is also the most expensive. Leasing a spa location, by yourself, means paying for a commercial site plus utilities. In a good location, this can easily mean a couple thousand dollars per month, especially for a good, high-traffic location.
Work in an existing beauty salon
This is the easiest route to take on your career path, and it is the one which carries the least amount of risk. It also means working for commissions from a rented salon suite, and working for 40% commissions is not a recipe for becoming financially comfortable.
Lease a salon booth
At Salon & Spa Galleria, we rent quality salon suites for rent for as little as $50 per week, or $200 per month. We include utilities, WiFi, laundry, and other miscellaneous expenses in that price. We even have furniture for you, should you need it, and we provide a web page and marketing/ business workshops to help you establish your brand. We are basically a risk-free option for those considering the perfect location from which to run their business, a day spa well-known across all of Fort Worth.
